BBC set to open tech centre in Newcastle

The BBC announced exciting plans for the region earlier this month. The broadcaster’s director general, Tony Hall, praised Newcastle for it’s digital and creative potential and described the tech hub as a “city looking for fresh ideas, collaboration and innovation”.

The commitment is part of the wider plan to move staff and programme making away from London, aiming to have two-thirds of activities in other regions by 2027.

We’re very excited to be part of the growing digital scene in the North East and happy to hear that the region is getting the recognition that it deserves.

Young creatives often feel as though they have to move to London to pursue their career, but things are heading in a new direction and we look forward to seeing where it leads.
