Tyne & Wear Sport (TWS) is a registered charity that encourages people from all walks of life to get involved with sports. Cargo caught their eye after we successfully launched the Angling Trust’s complicated booking system in early 2017.
When they came to us, TWS explained that the changing demands of their courses meant they had simply outgrown their existing booking platform. Additionally, their existing site was unusable on mobile devices, even though 35% of their activity was coming from users on mobile devices. They needed a responsive platform with an intuitive user interface.
To make the platform unique to Tyne & Wear Sport, it was agreed that a brand would be established – BOOK IT! Cargo worked with TWS to develop this platform in a way that was tailored specifically to TWS’s individual needs. TWS’s arrangements with local businesses and government bodies mean they are able to run specific events just for these organisations or offer tickets at subsidised rates.
Cargo also worked with TWS to understand their internal hierarchy, and how each administrative role within the organisation should be able to access and use data collected by the site. This streamlined, simplified CMS has increased productivity for staff and customers alike – users can easily search for courses, register, book and pay online.
