Core People

Exisiting brand refresh and new website integrated with job mate for a North East recruitment firm

Overview

Organic growth. As an agency, we have never been big fans of acquiring new clients with an overly-aggressive sales approach. This is why we are always pleased when new clients approach us after seeing our work elsewhere.

This was the case with Corepeople. Having delivered the new website for Ward Hadaway some time ago, Ian Storer - MD at Corepeople, saw our name on this and contacted us to discuss the design and build of a new project for Corepeople Recruitment. Working within the construction industry for over 25 years, the existing website for Core People was well out of date and in need of a refresh.

Their industry had changed, and through the early stages of the project, the structure and focus of the business also changed somewhat, which we had to accommodate.

Delivery

Retaining their existing logo, we developed a digital guideline for the site, and also explored how this may work with offline materials.

We spent a number of sessions talking to staff about their requirements for the back end of the site and how this would integrate with other systems they use on a daily basis to post jobs and opportunities elsewhere on the web, so integration with these was essential - in this case specifically JobMate. Ultimately the aim of this side of the site was to make their lives easier - saving them time (and ultimately money) when updating details and information.

As for the front-end of the site, a great deal of consideration was given to the user journey throughout the site and how we would signpost users to the various core pages. Dealing with permanent and temporary recruitment was the first of these funnels, with the industry segments being the second. We wanted users to be able to access specific industry areas such as Civil Engineering, Building and Housing as directly as possible from the homepage, without the laborious task of accessing via layered navigation such as services or sector pages first, as we found on many site during the discovery phase of the project.

Outcome

As ever, it is clear to see the impact that the updated site had from a visual perspective, and the fact that the site is more usable across mobile - an essential element within the recruitment industry, given the nature of the way users access information both on this site and also other social networks.

For the period August 1st - September 20th in 2016, when comparing to the same period for 2015, mobile visits have increased by 20%, and tablets by 35%. The new site has given the team at Corepeople a valuable tool to use within their business, but also has aided by attracting new clients whilst presenting this forward thinking organisation.

"We are thrilled with the outcome and process we went thought with the new site. From experience, the process in the past when updating our website was long and painful, however this certainly was not the case here. We’d happily recommend the team at Cargo to anyone looking for this type of project"

Ian Storer - Executive Director
