Researching the market and developing insight

Mediaworks deliver online marketing solutions to clients across the UK and Europe.

Mediaworks approached us in the early part of 2012 to discuss the redesign of their online presence. Considering the large shift in the SEO market since Mediaworks formed in 2007, we decided the best route initially would be to spend time researching the market and establishing how Mediaworks differ from their competition.  

Our first port of call was to deliver a workshop to the heads of each service team to ensure we gained an insight to how the company functioned and establish what would be required from their new website.

Standing out from the crowd

The workshop findings gave us a great basis to begin working on the website design and functionality.

It was important to the team, as it is to us at Cargo, that we build a website for the people that use it. In this case, Mediaworks needed a site their long list of great clients could access and navigate efficiently, whilst also potentially bringing in new clients. It needed to be a great place to shout about the work they do, the many services they offer and the difference these can make to your business.

We also developed an area of the site called ‘Knowledge’ where users can explore just what makes Mediaworks different to their competitors, read insight posts, find out about the culture of the company and also the vast amount of free events for clients, potential clients and the community as a whole.

Market leaders

Mediaworks has considerably upped its efforts in promoting its own events and public speaking duties throughout 2014.

By realigning their brand and strapline from ‘Online Marketing’ to ‘Creative-Search Agency’ Mediaworks is now positioned as market leaders across the board and their website and brand underpins this knowledge. Events are always a sell out and users visiting their knowledge pages has increased following launch by a dramatic 40%, with returning visitors viewing content updates and new posts regularly.
