Inclusive designer analyses websites nominated for Best of 2020 Awards
Eric Bailey, designer and advocate of a11y (a project aimed at making digital accessibility easier) has reviewed websites nominated for Awwwards’ Best of 2020 categories.
Awwwards gives recognition for web designers and developers and is recognised by many in the industry.
Some of the issues he noticed among the websites included:
- No focus styles
- Colour contrasts
- Can’t access or navigate chapters via keyboard
- Missing alt text descriptions
Eric goes on to say on Twitter, “The notion that you need to sacrifice aesthetics for accessibility is untrue…”.
