In those 10 years, we’ve grown from a small collective of designers, developers, marketers and managers into a thriving creative agency. We’ve worked in several studios across North Shields and collaborated with clients locally, nationally and globally.
At Cargo, we’ve watched North Shields evolve alongside us over the years, from redevelopment projects like the new Embankment Walkway, connecting the town centre to the Fish Quay, to celebrating local talent like Sam Fender, who has helped put our home on the map.
We began our North Shields journey in 2015 with our first office on Northumberland Square. By 2019, we moved to Howard Street, and as our team and agency continued to grow, it became clear we needed a new space.
That search led us to Harbour House.
Designed by Skye Alexander Ferry and Amy-bosé Wilson, the three-storey hub has been transformed from the old Kasbah Furniture Market into a home for local businesses and creatives to collaborate and thrive under one roof.
From the moment we stepped inside, we knew Harbour House was the right place for us. We’d been looking for an open-plan space where collaboration could happen naturally, but also somewhere we could inspire our team and welcome our clients.
In March 2025, we officially moved into our new studio and since then, Harbour House has given us exactly that.
Now surrounded by a vibrant mix of creatives, makers, and businesses, we’re proud to be part of a community that shares our spirit and love of collaboration and creativity.
North Shields has always been our home, and we’ve long recognised its potential and creative spirit. To now be part of a space that reflects that, alongside people who believe in what this town can be, is brilliant. There’s a creative energy here that you can’t fake. It comes from the people, the vision, and the space itself.
We’ve developed our space to be our own, bringing our meaningful memorabilia with us from our old studio less than half a mile away. From colourful wall art and Sam Fender posters to our vintage iMac and other memories from projects we’ve worked on, we’ve brought a bit of Cargo flare to Harbour House.
Our move hasn’t just brought us closer as a team, but broadened our network, opened new opportunities, and given us a place to grow.
Harbour House is more than a studio, but a home for Cargo’s next chapter.
